Dear TNS Community,

I am writing to thank you all for making this year’s Holiday Fair a
success. It warmed my heart that all day I saw kids gleefully running
around and parents enjoying some (mostly) relaxed time with each other.
That’s what it was all about, but we even managed to raise some money while
we were at it. We’ll report final numbers at Thursday’s PTA General
Meeting. All funds will go to support our enrichment programs, from the
art program to salaries for our lower-grade teaching assistants, school
trips and the garden, dance classes, teacher professional development, and
more.

Thank you for the support of all who attended, and a huge thanks to all of
the inspirational work people put in over the last many days. Below, I’ve
done my best to list out all the wonderful people who helped, but I am sure
I have missed some folks. It is certainly not intentional. Please give
all these wonderful people a high-five of thanks!

Once again, thank you all for making this such a wonderful event.

Matthieu Cornillon
(Zazie’s dad, Sofia/Joanne’s class)

*Let’s hear it for the Bake Sale crew,* who continued their amazing year
under Tatiana Prisco’s leadership with a great showing. Ashley Campbell
joined Tatiana in selling the baked goods, and unnamed others baked
delicious treats, of which I ended up having way too many.

*The popcorn was popping* thanks to Popcorn Crew regular Andrea Cornell,
and Stefan Heise who pinch hit on Sunday.

*We had a solid team keeping us fed all day in the kitchen: *Naomi
Schiller, Heather Teegarden, Samantha Thomas, Coral Nogueras, Stewart
Golden, Anthony Matteo, Mary McBride, and Angela Attia. And they were
serving food cooked by Rene Zweig, Rocio Rana, Gonzalo Bava, Iris Lee,
Anthony Matteo, Angela and Uri Attia, Joy Gabriel, and Serafina Drucker.
Thanks also to Christina, who works in the kitchen and helped us both
Saturday and Sunday.

*The decorate-your-own-cupcake station was a gummy bears and sprinkles
success,* led by Elinor Tatum, and staffed by Amy Warren, Elinor, and her
mom(!!). They were joined in cooking the cupcakes by Laura Stadler and
Elissa Berger.

*Did you see tigers and rabbits running around? They were courtesy of our
Face Painting rock stars,* Arti Kandikonda and Travis Lindquist.

*The ancient DIY Spin Art machine was spinning strong* thanks to Amy
Poueymirou, Kelly Haviland, Laurie Schulwolf, Aya Karpinska, Shannon
Diamondstein, and Josh Skillman. (BTW: your spin art might still be
hanging, so last chance to pick it up!)

*The Hair Salon was a big hit!* Dianne Pannullo and her niece Emilie got
things off the ground in the morning, and it was a packed station all day
under the stylings of Magdalena Marino, Magdalena Marino, Zuhirah Khaldun,
Leonie Weber-Seldess, Aya Karpinska, and I am pretty sure several others
that weren't on the sign-up sheet.

*Kids fancying a fine mani at the Nail Salon* found what they were looking
for in the hands of Jane Anderson, Zoë Venezio, Lee Shapiro, Mauricio Diaz,
Amanda Riesman, and Joanna Rodger.

*The folks at the Craft Station had kids happily creating* bracelets,
necklaces, snowflake ornaments, and picture frames. A glitter-glue thanks
to Johanna Berke, who led the station, and the crafty Angela Sanchez,
Joree Weinstein, Ali Smith, Allison Eve Zell, Thea Taube, Jill Borrero, and
Matt Gold.

*The Car Derby was a runaway smash* under a team led by Eric Azcoy and Josh
Skillman, and featuring Mark Levy, Wendy Wong, Monica Botto, Ken Harris,
and Carine Allaf.

*Once again, the Box Maze blew us away with its audaciously expansive
corrugated splendor. *Thanks to Karen Oh and Tim Seiber leading the crew:
Chris Young, Peter Liem, Marie Samanovic-Golden, Kim Kelly, and David
Holloway. I'm sure there were others there, but that's all I could see on
the sign-up. You can always recognize them by the lingering scent of
packing tape adhesive.

*Our TNS Swag sales force* included Joy Gabriel, Laura Stadler, Constance
Giamo + Felicity Harris, Chris & Ben Popken, Hilary Gomez, Erin Olsen,
Andrea Cornell, and Steffie Kinglake. Big thanks to Josh Skillman, who
single-handedly carried the many boxes of t-shirts, water bottles, and mugs
out from the PTA room.

*The Book Fair kept the copies of Dog Man flying for four days!* Hats off
to Doug Singleton for leading the fair, and Shari Stadel, Zuhirah Khaldun,
Rick Mangi, Phyllie Cheng, and Olly Keane, who filled out the crew over
that long stretch.

*I wasn't the only one to get some lovely pics at the Photo Booth, *thanks
to the help of Margaret Staruszkiewicz, Tatiana Prisco, Ashley Campbell,
Andrea Cornell, Patrick Canavan, Nicole Centeno, and Andreina Rodriguez.
Thanks also to Marc Santa Maria for the use of his tripod and lights, and
Adriana Hammonds for donating a festive, wintery backdrop

*We had a great soundtrack for our day* thanks to DJ/audio-equipment
lugger/setter-upper Yoon Choi.

*Our Vendor Fair* was possible thanks to Elinor Tatum and Alejandro Torres.

*Finally, the general pitch-in-and-get-things-done crew:*

   - It was endearing to see the cadre of industrious children who made
signs for stations and hung balloons all over the space.
   - Matt Gold, Lisa Scott, Joy Gabriel, Elissa Berger, David Stadler, and
Olly Keane worked the door all day.
   - Karen Oh designed the flyer, and Steffie Kinglake made sure it made it
   out there physically and electronically.
   - Elinor Tatum helped us with information about previous years, and did
   major shopping runs for supplies.
   - Stefan Heise, Alejandro Torres, and Josh Skillman generally kept
things moving with set-up, clean-up, and filling gaps this weekend. Josh
in particular seemed to be everywhere all the time, so maybe he pinched
   Hermione's time-turner.
   - And of course my partner in crime Olly Keane provided able help, but
more importantly: an ever even keel with a dose of good humor.
