Please join us for the HOUR OF CODE in the Library

Wednesday, December 11, 2019, 3:45-6:30pm

All ages! No experience necessary!

What is the Hour of Code?

The Hour of Code is an introduction to computer science that was designed
to demystify "code" and show that anybody can learn the basics. The Hour of
Code is celebrated around the globe annually to commemorate the birthday of
computing pioneer Grace Murray Hopper.

Why should children learn to code?

It allows children to see themselves as creators with technology (not just
consumers)!

It teaches persistence and problem-solving skills

It encourages computational thinking or understanding how computers
“think.”
