Dear Families,
We are devoting all our TNS professional development half-days to
anti-bias, anti-racist work this year. The first part of the afternoon is
spent reflecting together on a shared text or webinar and during the second
half, we meet in racial affinity groups. The purpose of our work in our
racial affinity groups is to have a space to unpack the ways race and
racism have affected each of us personally and to unpack the implicit bias
we might be carrying with us. Today we are watching a conversation between
the co-authors of Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You Jason Reynolds and
Ibram X. Kendi and discussing implications for curriculum, teaching and
learning.
