Dear Families,
What a rollercoaster of a week. I heard from teachers that in spite of
technical challenges there were many good parts of the week - especially
connecting with their students. And that each day got a little easy and a
little smoother. I’m reminded that kids aren’t the only ones who like
routines and structure; I have learned over the years that teachers (and
principals) do, too. In time, each of us will find a new rhythm to our
day.
Speaking of routines, I especially miss greeting your children and you each
morning and touching base before we begin our busy day. One task for me
this week is to figure out how to migrate some of my routines to Google
Classroom.
As we move to online learning, teachers are being mindful of the length of
class meetings and live screen time. We want all siblings to be able to
participate in their class meeting times as much as possible. To this end,
teachers are trying to create activities and assignments that can be done
off-line and Teddy, Mara, and Emily will mostly post recorded meetings and
lessons in their classrooms. Beginning tomorrow, teachers will take
students’ attendance by asking your child to indicate, “I am here today”
through a Google Form.
I am sharing a compilation of resources that may be helpful to you:

I hope you and your children are continuing to manage during this very
trying time and get some restful moments this weekend far away from your
devices.
With love,
Dyanthe
