Dear Families,
I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that we have
found a solution to getting kids into Google Classroom and soon everything
will work smoothly. The bad news is that the DOE has let me know that it
is unable to attach the school's domain. Consequently, we are working to
create class emails and passwords today for our Pre-k through 3rd-grade
students and students in grades 4/5 will revert to their "old" TNS
usernames/password.
*The process of getting students and families on our domain will not be
nearly as challenging for families as setting up their DOE emails.* You
will be logging in to Google Classroom with a new, different username and
password assigned to you by the school. In other words, you will be using a
tnsny.org account instead of the nycstudents.net accounts. Soon teachers
and staff will reach out to you individually along with step-by-step
instructions (again!) and a screencast of the process so that you can also
follow the steps in a video. Please try to get onto Google Classroom as
soon as your teacher emails you.
The process of getting all our students into Google Classroom has been
incredibly frustrating for all of us - it feels that with each success, we
hit another roadblock. I remind myself that this is to be expected in such
a huge system that is moving in a very different direction very quickly. We
continue to need to be patient, understanding and flexible, both with
ourselves and each other. In time, each of us will find a new rhythm to
our days.
With Love,
Dyanthe
