------------------

Dear TNS Families,

These are stressful and anxious times. The COVID-19/Coronavirus situation
is a fluid one, with updates emerging rapidly. We appreciate your patience
and understanding as the PTA works with the school to navigate them. We are
all in this together and we will see each other through this turbulent time.

   -

Public Schools are closed from March 15th until April 20th.
   -

Grab-and-Go meals will be available for students at all schools
(students can go to any NYC school) until Friday, March 20th, at which time
the city will designate sites for families to get breakfast and lunch.
   -

Please reach out directly to Dyanthe <dyanthe at tnsny.org> if “Stocking
   the pantry” is a concern.
   -

Beginning Tuesday, March 17th, teachers will be creating remote learning
   models for their classes.
   -

We ask that parents with questions about remote lessons refrain from
emailing teachers and give them time to plan. Classes will be notified how
and when they can access remote learning tools.
   -

Parents can log into the directory on TNS website <http://www.tnsny.org/>
to find contact information for other parents in their classes for virtual
   communication and support.

School and DOE updates will be sent out by the school and the DOE directly.
The PTA will continue to do its best to share this information through our
website <http://www.tnsny.org>, newsletter
<http://tnsny.org/posts/files/230>, and class parent emails.

way through.Thank you again for your patience and be well everyone!!

*------------------------------*

Dear Families,

Over the weekend, all of us at TNS were consumed with worry about the
health, wellness, and safety of our students, families and each other. I
am very relieved that today the Mayor and Chancellor announced that schools
will be closed tomorrow and are scheduled to reopen to students following
Spring Recess on Monday, April 20. Students will not report to school
buildings for instruction during this time. Beginning Monday, March 23, we
will move towards a “Remote Learning Model” for all school days until
Spring Recess.

There will be a one-day full system closure tomorrow, March 16.
Grab-and-Go meals will be available for students at all schools until
Friday at which time the city will designate sites for families to get
breakfast and lunch. I know that not every family is in a position to
“stock their pantry.” Please reach out to me directly if this a concern for
your family so that we can help.

Please check the DOE website
<https://www.schools.nyc.gov/school-life/health-and-wellness/coronavirus-update>
for details and reach out to me if you have any questions. I will be in
touch very soon!

With Love,

Dyanthe
