American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) National Student Video Podcast Contest
 
February is Discover Languages month and ACTFL decided to celebrate by encouraging students to reflect on the value of learning languages and the impact it has had on their lives. Students in Danette’s Spanish classes expressed their views in a two-minute video podcast, which were then entered into the contest. Thanks to all the Neighborhood school students for participating in the contest!
 
After viewing almost 200 videos, ACTFL has narrowed the entries down to a group of finalists. We are proud to announce that five students from the Neighborhood School have been selected as finalists!

The winner of the contest wins $500 for their class, and it is now up to us to decide who wins. From March 3 to March 7 YOU will be able to cast your “Popular Vote” for your favorite finalist video. In order to view the finalists and cast your votes, go to www.DiscoverLanguages.org between March 3 and March 7, click on the Elementary School, Grades PK-5 contest category, watch the videos and then vote for your favorite. You will have only ONE vote, so make sure you vote for your absolute favorite!
 
ACTFL will announce the winners of the 2008 ACTFL Video Podcast Contest on Wednesday, March 12, 2008.
